Welcome junior, senior, or recently graduated college students! Simple Literature offers unpaid internships to college students who are majoring in English, communications,
education, graphic design or marketing. Interns can work as children's story writers, editors, curriculum writers,
graphic designers, illustrators, or in marketing. Here is what individual interns can choose to do:
Children's
story writers (CSW): CSW writers will be given third- or fourth-grade short stories and part
of a novel and be asked to rework archaic language and make material accessible to a modern audience.
Curriculum
writers (CW): CW writers will work with third and fourth grade reading passages (long and short)
to best interpret them developmentally for children through curriculum exercises.
Editors:
Editors will work with third and fourth grade reading passages (long and short) to align them with a single
style guide, keep them accurate, and work with clarity.
Graphic Designers / Illustrators (GD/I):
GD/I will work to enhance individual products through design or illustration.
Marketing:
Those in business marketing will work on campaigns for the launch of specific products in the Simple Literature
line.

Where are the summer internship positions located? Simple
Literature understands that some college students do not have the money or time for an internship, but they would still like
one. To accommodate this need, Simple Literature has made all of its summer internship positions virtual.
Interns
are given 25 hours of work each week for 10 weeks, along with ongoing discussions and best practice lectures. This
year, our summer internships are from May 28, 2012 to August 2, 2012.
Interns will communicate
with Simple Literature professionals via their computers, and they have the flexibility to work their five-hour days,
Monday through Friday, around their part-time summer jobs. It is the intern's responsibility to have a computer available
for these positions.
